It was the season of 2006 that our producer Tom Bendewald came to us with a personality whom he thought would be a great guest interview for our Thru Our Eyes radio show. "Personality was an understatement in describing a man known to us as Hunter Silvastorm. On that show Hunter was both energetic and inspirational. As we are a show dedicated to the blind and visually impaired we thought a blind author would be of much interest, and thought we would learn the trials and obstacles particular to his visual impairment. Hunter however, taught us so much more! He taught us that his handicap was almost insignificant and it was not what defined him, and in turn, should not define us. We soon realized that Hunter had more to say than what would fit in the parameters of one interview and we offered him a show of his own.
Hunter's show "The World of Hunter Silvastorm soon grew to a listener ship of over 16,000 people per month. Hunter was so well versed in a wide variety of subjects that each and every show was a joy to listen to.
The staff of WTOE Radio is deeply saddened by the loss of our friend Norman. His legacy will continue in our hearts and minds forever.
We all are lucky enough to have all of his shows archived online so when we need a little lift we can reconnect with our friend whenever we desire.
WTOE Radio extends our deepest sympathies to his friends and family knowing full well what he meant to them and they to him.
So for now, until we meet him again, we shall borrow a line from one of his most popular segments:
This ladies and gentlemen was "Our Provocative Perspective"
